Offsite Event FAQs

These are the most common questions we have received since we have been able to operate outside of our walls. Please feel free to email our event coordinator, Ann, if your question is not answered below.

FAQS

What type of events can you set up at? The biggest aspect of SB11 for an offsite event (at least for us) is that the event must be somewhat public. Most of the time this means a festival, craft show, city held event, park event, or something along those lines. However, some weird exceptions, such as a large employee party, a business event (opening of a new business, sales event, promotional picnic), or a smaller charity event will qualify. If you are uncertain, our event coordinator, Ann, can help make sure we can set up at your event.

We are having a large private celebration at our house. Can you set up a tent there? No. Unfortunately, that type of event is not allowed under SB11. However, we do offer keg sales where you can buy a keg for your event from us or you can reach out to our distributor, Kentucky Distributor Chas. Seligman, to buy one from their inventory.

We are having a private celebration at a public place such as a park. Can you set up an offsite event in this situation? We can with permission from the park or venue. Also, we have to make our product available to the park as a whole. Please keep this in mind when determining where you want us to set up as it may cause people that are not guests at your event to line up at our booth/tent.

My neighborhood is having a block party. Are you able to set up for something like that?

Yes, as long as it was advertised and open to anyone within your neighborhood. We can not set up inside anyone’s house or garage. Our ideal setup for an event such as one like that is on the street, in a no traffic area (such as a cul-de-sac).

How large of an event can you handle? That really depends on our inventory in stock at the time. If you believe your event is going to be larger than 1000 people, we suggest bringing in another brewery. We can assist you with this as we keep a good relationship with Kentucky breweries and our glad to reach out to get another brewery to your event.

We have a liquor license at our venue, can you still sell your beer at our event? This is a complicated question and would need to clarify your event prior to giving you a good answer. A general rule of thumb is if your event is outside, open to the general public, and other vendors are invited, we can. To get clarification, please email ann@alexandriabrewingcompany.com.

How much do you charge to be at our event? We do not charge you anything to set up at your event. However, we do charge for the beer we serve by the pour (same as in our taproom). If it is an event that beer is included with a ticket price, we charge the event host. If we are selling it directly to the event attendees they can pay, typically by cash and card, for their beer. We do have the ability to set up tabs for credit card purchases as well.

How do I book you for my event? Please email Ann at ann@alexandriabrewingcompany.com. Unlike a private event here, we do not require a contract for your event. Please keep in mind, we will ask a lot of questions about your event to verify that we can operate under SB11.
