Alexandria Brewing Company was envisioned by our Head Brewer, Andy Reynolds years ago. After two tours in Iraq, Andy found that the process of brewing different beers helped put his mind at ease. He took his love for brewing and decided to follow that path for his career. In 2015, Andy went to the Siebel Institute of Technology, America’s oldest and most respected brewing institution, to master his craft.
The reason we chose Alexandria, Kentucky as a destination for our brewery is that it is a close community where people still take the time to say “hello.” Andy’s wife, Ann, was raised in Alexandria. Together they own land, where Andy grew his first hops.
We envision Alexandria Brewing Company as a family-friendly establishment celebrating rock and roll, fun, and, the best beers around.
The main objective that all of us here at Alexandria Brewing Company agree on is to build a business that has integrity. This is a key foundation in all facets of ABC. Having worked in various corporate positions and seeing how some companies treat employees and consumers, we want to create an honest company that gives back and treats all people involved like we would want to be treated.
More to our story:
Meet Our Crew
Founder / C.E.O. / Head Brewer
Andy's passion for brewing started in a warzone while making hard cider with apple juice and yeast. His love of homebrewing led to the formation of Alexandria Brewing Company, but severe health issues forced him to put this dream on hold. Years later, Andy was fortunate enough to attend Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL and graduate in Advanced Brewing Theory. While at Seibel, Andy was able to gain a better understanding of the industry and learn the ins and outs of the craft. This version of Alexandria Brewing Company is the result.
Andy's main role at the brewery is head brewer. He will be involved in approving other pieces of the brewery's opperations and it is his vision that the brewery is following. However, Andy has brought on Brad to handle the business side of the brewery so he can concentrate on his craft.
Chief Operations Officer
Brad has a business and management background. Brad graduated from Indiana University with a BA in journalism. He is our "jack of all trades" and is here to run the day to day operations of the brewery. He will fill in as an assistant brewer when needed and will work with Andy to make sure our quality control and service is top notch.
Microbiology / Quality Assurance
Joe Reynolds is Andy's younger brother. He graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2007 with a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology. He furthered his career in Houston, TX doing a post doctorate at M.D. Anderson. He now is at Rosalind Franklin University of Science and Medicine.
We are fortunate enough to have him help us out a couple of weekends a months with our yeast propagation, testing for possible spoilers, and quality assurace.
